My client is one of the largest Online Travel Agencies and is seeking a highly talented lead developer to join its European Development team to continue building and improving its product offering and customer facing systems. In this role you will be responsible for building code in Java and web technologies against a new, high-performance presentation framework. I need a passionate developer who enjoys solving difficult problems and writing solid, high-quality code to implement business requirements. The projects you work on will affect the experience of millions of site users and will have a material impact on the overall success of the company at a European level.
To be successful in this role you will have proven experience within:-
Web application development environment
Technical competency in developing high-performance, scalable Java applications, preferably for a transactional B2C website.
Strong understanding of HTML, JavaScript, XML and CSS.
Experience with specific tools and platforms such as Tomcat, Eclipse, Apache, Perforce, Ant would be highly desirable as would some understanding and experience of information architecture and user-centred design.
