My client is a leading Online Travel Company who are currently searching for a J2EE Developer who will take a leading role in building functionality for B2C sites helping to drive revenue growth across the EMEA region.
My client is needing someone who can:-
• Write high quality Java code to fulfill the requirements of technology projects.
•Work closely with both in-house and outsourced technical resources: developers, test analysts, network engineers, DBAs.
•Help drive best practice through the development team, optimizing the overall software development process.
•Provide technical input on development tools and techniques.
•Provide peer code reviews to assess overall code quality and flexibility, and the application of good object-orientated programming techniques.
•Work with Business Analysts / Marketing team to understand requirements and produce technical designs and estimates for software projects.
•Establish strong working relationship with site operations team in the U.S.
•Assist in analysis and resolution of complex production support issues.
For this position you need to be qualified in the majority of the following:-
•University Degree in technical discipline.
• Solid experience working in web application environment, including development and support of high-availability transactional websites.
• Technical competency in developing high-performance,scalable J2EE applications.
• Familiar with standard design patterns applicable to enterprise software.
• Highly proficient in JSP, Struts, Spring and Hibernate.
• Proficiency in XHTML, XML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with i18n and content management.
• Awareness of both established and emerging technologies relevant to high-volume websites.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to trouble shoot complex issues.
• Experience with specific tools and platforms advantageous: Apache, Caucho Resin, Tomcat, Eclipse, Perforce.
• Broad knowledge of network technologies applicable to a secure, fault-tolerant production website.
